Thanks Carl, yes, replacing all seals, belt, new used inner primary, and baker inner primary bearing and seal. Hope to get started this weekend. Once apart, I will be able to determine if I have an early or late model year 1994 transmission parts. Once that is determined, the rest of the parts will get ordered (sprocket spacer, quad seal, and the large seal).

Since I am replacing the inner primary, I will need to loosen engine to frame, transmission to engine, and transmission to frame mounting bolts to make sure the replacement primary will line up with the engine and transmission correctly. Going to try dry fitting the replacement primary first to make sure things get lined up properly before installing the inner primary bearing seal and inner primary for good.

I am curious about the inner primary bolts that have the locking tabs on them. Curious how others managed to get them to seal up so they don't leak primary fluid. I see the manual shows the two lowest bolts get some silicone sealer where the primary contacts the transmission, but for the rest of them, does silicone sealer get applied to the underside of the locking tabs and the under the bolt heads so no oil can work it's way past the bolts? Thanks for the info, YD

Getting all the parts and tools together. My problem is I have a 1994. Don't know if it uses the early 1994 (and earlier parts) or the late 1994 on parts. I suppose I will find out when I take things down.

I agree with THC, your clutch should be good. Good luck with the project. YD
Call the mother ship in Milwaukee, give them your VIN and they'll tell you if it was early or late '94. Or maybe even your local dealership can tell you.

It doesn`t matter which parts your bike was built with, because you want late `94 (or later) parts to rebuild.

I can give you a list of part numbers (upgraded configuration) if you want.

Well I found my leak. RIght at the bottom of that big O ring that seals the inner primary to the crankcase. Funny I never saw a drop on the floor under the bike.

If it's not too much trouble, thanks, pretty sure its front sprocket (and nut and locking plate), spacer, and large spacer seal. Not sure if quad seal size is different??

Carl, glad you found the leak! Does the metal lip on the engine block where the seal sits look OK? Have seen members here post problems with that lip cracking in the past. Will you be using any sealer or gasket dressing on that O-ring?

As far as tools, I planned on dremmel cutting off the old race, and using various PVC pipe, spacers, washers, etc to install oil seals. I do have a seal driver kit with different sizes, but not the harley specific one. I did make the sprocket nut socket. YD

Yeah the lip looks fine. I'll be using some type of sealer. Not sure exactly what this time. I know I'll need something with a lot of open time though.
