The brand was Sunpie and after work today Ill pull headlights out and show you the mods I did. only mod was with snips to metal mount for depth. harness was plug n play. I changed them out in my buddies drive way in about 30 mins. They are night and day difference at night!!! Oh and yes to seat.
I've been studying LED bikes for quite a while now. For my Glide (OK, not a TG!) I've used Trucklight headlamp and spots - they even sell a l/h dipping unit for those of us who ride on the 'correct' side of the road! I gave up on looking for decent replacement H4 type bulbs for that bike. The reason is simply that few of them have their LEDs in the same location as the filament of a conventional bulb, which means the light they generate is not at the focal point of the reflector. While I have bought a few LED bulbs the only ones I actually currently use, on any of our several vehicles, are the daytime lights on our VW T5 camper. They are too big for any other application, but point the LEDs looking backwards into the reflector, so giving a good intense, properly focused light. They look great! They also don't cause any dazzle. I haven't found any decent H4 LED bulbs to use in the T5's headlights yet.
The one vehicle I would really like to have LED headlights for is Buttercup, my Buell. She has two tiny headlamps, each with a single-filament H3 bulb, but there are no LSD replacements I have come across yet that have a hope of fitting. This photo shows the nature of the problem. It is actually 2 years old and current LED bulbs look quite different today, but they still suffer from the same problem. In contrast to the H3 bulb envelope they are too big, plus the LEDs do not match the location of the filament, as already commented on. This bulb will not seat into Buttercup's headlight bulb holders:
I thought an engineer could fab anything up. You're letting us down Mr. Brown.
As far as an LSD replacement, well nevermind.
There is an adaptor ring available to mount these lights if you don't want to cut up the stock bucket. I think it was around $20.00.
I've been running the headlamp and passing lamp kit for 3 or so years now. Definitely more light and much better nighttime riding.
