Don't know if any of you guys use standard Motor products or more commonly known as blue streak, presumably everything's made here in the USA and has been since I can remember working on my first cars back in the early 70s. Points condensers all that stuff, they also make a good line of coils, switches and relays for all our Harleys as well and are very reasonable.. A single fire coil is only $89.... You guys should take a look at this..
They are all good that you mentioned, buy what you can afford but don't believe the guys who say there is no difference tween dual n single fire. I just put in an ultima ignition n an aftermarket single fire coil and the vibration on my bike was cut by atleast 40%. I got lucky n my set up ran up ran beautiful on curve 1. Spend 90 buck then try to wipe the smile off your face the first.time you ride it.

Even though the 2ki and Ultima are made by the same people, the standard advance curves (selected by the switches) are very different between the Ultima 53-644 and Dyna 2ki. The Ultima is fully advanced at a much lower RPM whereas the Dyna 2ki stretches the maximum advance to a much higher RPM when in full throttle. With an optional cable and (free) software, you can make either unit do whatever you want.
Actually the Chinese make the Ultima and Dynatek makes the 2ki.
In other words the Ultima is a Chinese knock off of the Dynatek.

Although not the industry standard Ultima ignitions are made in the USA I believe by dynatek then rebranded by Ultima, the coils in the kit were Chinese junk but not the ignition.
Not tryin to start a **** in match so plz don't take me fer one of those guys. If I'm wrong show me differently.

SMP is good quality so far as everything I've seen. They import some of their parts but they do have a few factories in the USA. The VOES switches are US made.
While I do Not embrace Single fire, except for dual plugs, some think, for some reason, it is some kind of Enhancement... Believe me... If single Fire was in any way, better than dual fire... One would be on the non-dual plugged Dragbike...not like I don't have a few single fire ignitions around here...
Do What makes ya "feel good" on that one....
Nothing wrong with waste spark. My Esprit had it, my Camry had it, RAV4, Corolla, etc. HD just beat them all to it by a couple decades.
Now, RSB, you said
"They are all good that you mentioned, buy what you can afford but don't believe the guys who say there is no difference tween dual n single fire. I just put in an ultima ignition n an aftermarket single fire coil and the vibration on my bike was cut by atleast 40%."
From an experimental standpoint, you changed 2 things, the module and the coil, maybe 3 if the plug wires are now also new, and you said the bike vibrates less. What caused it? You can't pick one without further research. Put a new waste spark coil on in place of your single fire and see if there is any difference.
