Default New 94 Tour Glide owner

Hello everyone. New member here. I recently acquired a 1994 tour glide and was wondering what seats would fit on my older bike. I’m on the taller side (6’7) and would like something to scoot me back on the bike. Not really sure where to search for a seat that would fit. Thanks

Welcome to the addiction!

I put a 2006 Road King seat on my 89 and needed to extend the "tongue" for the front of the seat to hook into. Your's has a slightly different frame so it may be easier.

Thanks for the info. That’s what I was concerned about- making the tongue fit up with the dash.

It's not just a matter of the tongue, the 94s to 96s had a frame with higher seat rails underneath it. I'm not disputing others can be made to fit, as it has happened often, but there are a limited number of seats available for those years. I think it was about an 1-1/2" or so, so the pan is a different shape. In short, the bike's probably a good option for a taller rider.

If your *** is to scale, the Mustang touring seats are probably the widest 15" or 17" options, and also lower and move you back a bit. You can buy them new, or find them on Ebay.

Kowboy, did the rear nuts line up in the later seat, or did you have to drill your fender?

Years 97-07 are the same and can be adapted to older bikes like mentioned earlier, your TG may be year specific and some of the Evo guys can keep helping you dial in.
As far as getting back on the bike I've had luck with Corbins, the dual tour will put you back some and still have some back support, a Corbin Hollywood is unlimited on moving back but isn't a 500 mile seat. Recently bought a Mustang Vintage Super Solo and use it on both the Evo RK and Roadglide, moves you back and really comfortable but its trade off is no back support. Got use to the Mustangs little back support and can ride all day but they offer a Super Solo with a backrest and may be the answer for a perfect seat for a tall guy but it's possible the backrest may keep a tall man from moving back, seats are a gamble.

I think you will find that both Corbin and Mustang still make new touring seats that will bolt on correctly.

Appart from small details like the oil tank and rear loop, did the 94 to 96 have the same basic frame design or dimension as the 84 and up frames?

I wish I could answer that one, just know the 94-96 will take a 97-07 seat with the tongue mod. It's going to take one the older bike pioneers to nail the question asked, maybe Doc will come along or one of the other earlier Evo guys

I had no problems using 97 and later parts on my 89. I found that the later frames were wider at the rear fender so some spacers were needed to adapt things, but all in all it was pretty easy to do. The fuel tanks were mounted differently from 82-87, the "swallow tail" years, but most everything else is the same.

note the spacers for the 97 and up TP quick release.
