Ah, ok, I thought so.
It was tight. I had to put it in first gear end break the back wheel to get it off.
I didn't had to put much power, but it sure wasn't loose.

Is there a specific way to remove the clutch basket from a tapered shaft?

If I'm not mistaken the torque spec on that nut was 50 ft. lbs.

Pull the basket and look for any cracks in the "shaft" that goes over the transmission shaft. They were known to crack. The new ones have a "retainer ring" that keeps them from cracking..

You'll need a puller to get the basket off. I bought one from Jim's tools that was made specifically for that basket.

Yes it will.

Just make sure that the key stays put when you're sliding the basket over the transmission shaft.

Good luck. Hope it's not your bearing

Ok, I'm back.

Got the clutch out.

There is a strange ring on the back where the circlip is. How do I remove this? Just press the axel down
and it will come of? It doesn't say anything in the manual.

Yeah, that's the aftermarket ring mentioned earlier. "Supposed" to help prevent the keyed hub bore from cracking... I've never used one.

You'll have to get that ring off somehow to remove the lock ring that's under it before anything more can come apart.
