On a basically stock motor slow bleeds really aren't necessary cause your not caring hi rpm's nor are you running high spring pressures.. but if you feel comfortable with them go for it.. You won't be throwing your money away..
They don’t want to keep up. I did the SE Torque cam,s&s “premium lifters, and 2020 oil pump, but I still think my stockers were way quieter. I’m gonna pull my rocker covers and replace my adjustable pushrods with stock or fueling one piece, but figured I’d go ahead and replace those s&s lifters with something different, which ultimately led me to this post after I started reading reviews on the Hylift Johnson lifters. I got stuck in traffic yesterday for over an hour and half crawling, and as my 107 cooked my legs, the valve train noise was just loud, almost like the lifters we’re saying ‘nope’, like the lifters weren’t staying pumped up all the way

Don't want to take away from you LQQK_OUT, Sorry man, But this guy is looking in the wrong direction about noises and how to rectify.. I think He should start his own thread so we can properly help him...
By the way pgriffinsc@gmail.com this is the Evo section.. You'll need to post in the Twin cam section or Engine Mechanical...

I know this is an older thread but, had to chime in as lifters are now once again on my list of things needing to be done.
Years ago I built an 80 in. EVO. Dual plug heads from Rick Collier (may he rest in piece) one of the best headwork guys ever.
Anyway, I used a Red Shift cam, White Bros. pushrods and KB slugs at 10.5:1.
That little pumper gave me 108 HP all day long with a fat torque curve.
The lifters used? Jim Hydro Solids. Never ever had an issue at any rpm.
Well, my 127 EVO from Ultima has about 12000 on her.
Just some nice exhaust clean up work on the heads, nothing else.
One day I was riding home from San Jose and heard an engine sound change that means one thing, "low oil Pressure".
Pulled over to find the back half of my FLSTF was covered in oil as one of the oil tank nipples that are welded to the tank broke off.
Got the scoot back home, swapped out the oil tank which is the most frustrating thing I've ever done on a Harley.
Once back together, I fired her up and noticed a knock in the front cylinder. Rode it for a few minutes and it did not go away.
I lost a lifter it seems so time to replace them all.
Lifter pricing has become almost obscene now so I am going with what worked before; Jims Hydro Solids.
They're cost is middle of the road and in some cases more than $100.00 cheaper vs some other brands.
I'm also going to pop for a new set of pushrods. "White Bros." of course.
I'll have em made 1/4 over length to allow for more thread engagement.
Will report on the results after install.
