Didn't hear the part about Sporties... just Evo like Alma... but... If I do Sportster it will Definitely Not be Rubber Mounted...Heavy!! but Cheap.
Dyna?? Cheap, and plentiful... FXR?? expensive and hard to find Unmolested... 1985 -1986, 4-speed?? Rare...
Softail.
A lot of interchangeable parts for the evo era.
Very true... I just can't get behind "Softails"... Not even Close to my Style..
May try one again tho...now I'm a bit older!!
Absolutely Nothing Unique about them is a Problem for me

The reputation for the best handling of the big twins has been the FXR, and the second best?...The FXDS with the 28* degree rake makes them handle nicely.
Looked long and hard for a "fair" FXR with no luck, settled on the FXDS due to the 28 degree rake and how it felt.
The FXD at 32 degree and the FXDS at 28 degrees. The FXR and Sportster at 29 and the Softails at 32, and 34 for the FXSTC.
This is mid 1990's specs (1994 to be exact).
Yes the Dyna's are a rubber mounted engine, but with new mounts (and proper alignment) or better yet after market mounts, they can feel pretty agile (for a big twin). YD

I feel like I've managed to pretty well bookend the extremes of the Harley experience. Spend a few days on the bagger, the bobber feels light as a feather. Spend a few days on the bobber, the bagger feels like the most luxurious thing ever.
