Don't blame you not separating them again. Just something to check next time you do one - put each half in the dead centers and measure off the side of the wheel. That will tell you how much the shaft is off in relation to the wheel half. Need to do that especially on 4 or 5 piece wheels. I'll skip the lesson for now on how to correct them if they're off much.

You may already know, but just in case - there is a restrictive fitting (allen screw with a small hole) in the outer end of the pinion shaft. Remove that before you put it in the dead centers. Depending on the angle of the centering points, leaving it in will make readings difficult and inconsistent. And DO NOT loose it or forget to re-install when you're done.
