my shovel used to do that. In heavy rain, the connections under the tank console would get wet, and my oil light would light up. Scared the hell out of me the first few times.

Yeah, kinda like my RN Truck. Only 34 years old and >375K miles. The temp gauge stopped working. It would only barely move off C. Big deal, don't use it anyway outside of towing, so I let it alone. All well and fine until one day I blew the head gasket. A hose developed a pinhole leak.

Got the new pressure switch installed, Light is gone. Not sure if it's because the wiring was all dried out or because the switch was bad but either way its working fine now. More importantly we now have a new addition to our family! Gracie Mae was born on Fri morning. 9lbs 13oz 19.75". perfectly healthy and now home with her big brothers.
