Softails have to have that hole as there isn't enough room in the rear jug to get to the rear left bolt with anything else.
1/4" distance between the frame and the top of the rear rocker box would make working on softails so much easier!!!!!
Something I didn't know... but will look... I know about the FXR thing...and Folks will tell you that one is impossible also, and therefor Require the hole... But, Most I see don't have it... ie, no Shadetree mechanics been at it..dealeships included..
so are there ant additives to put in your oil to clean out the sludge ? engine and tranny .
The easiest thing to do is to change the oil and filter, put 500 miles on it and change oil and filter again. That's just for peace of mind because your EVO engine won't have a sludge problem.

ya , you say that but when i emptied the tranny . it looked like it was taking a dump.
sooo... with all the things that i have to do to this bike ive decided to change a few things . im going to put a FL fender on the back . im pretty sure i have that sorted out . i want to put a taller tire on the front . like a 23" or a 26" . it seems like a 2" lowering kit will make room for the 23" , but how would i make room for the 26" . the trail would be different . what would the affect on the steering be ?
any thoughts
