Default Throttle issues

I’ve been doing some suspension upgrades on my 93 ultra classic. While I was working on that, I swapped out the enrichner cable for a new one. Now that it’s back together my throttle is acting all crazy. At idle it will drop to about 300rpms and then shoot up to about 1400 and repeat. Whenever I hit the throttle and let off it sticks at about 3000 and then slowly drops back to idle. The throttle itself is springing back and seems to be doing it’s thing, but it still sticks and slowly drops back to idle. Only thing I can think is that the enrichner cable isn’t sitting right? But just wondering if it could be any thing else?

Was the problem immediate or come on after riding a while ? Try disconnecting the new cable and see what happens, if it worked before the cable swap it's probably related to the swap.

Assuming your throttle cables are re-installed and adjusted per the manual, it sounds exactly like a vacuum leak.

Check the seal at the carb to intake, and the intake manifold to cylinder head (O-rings), or the new enrichener cable is allowing air in some how. Also look at the vacuum line from carb to voes. Might have come disconnected or is leaking.

Sounds like the enricher wasn't seated when you tightened the nut at the carb side.

I’ll check for any vacuum leaks tonight. That might be it, maybe something is just not seated right or can loose. It was dark when I got it back last night so I didn’t get to looks very good.

Yeah, carb grommet not seated / sealing and/or enricher valve not seating correctly.

Got a better look in the daylight today. Looks like the cable got snagged between 2 fins and is off the nut and bent down. I’ll pull it back apart tomorrow and reseat it. Hopefully that’ll be the only issue but I’m pretty confident that’s it. Thanks for all the responses.
