Yeah, without the choke working (fingers crossed that's been the culprit) you'd have to live in south Florida to start it this time of year. CV doesn't want to fire one without on a cold start unless it's 80 degrees. Can't help you at all with the S&S, I'm admittedly and willfully ignorant, but there's lots of guys here who can.
As the old timer dirt farmers would say; "I think you're in the short rows now." Good job....

Went to start the bike same thing. Maybe a parasitic draw? But it's extremely slow turn won't fire. Almost like the brand new battery is completely dead again
After trying yo start, have you pulled plugs to check to see if they are getting gas, never though using starter fluid on a gas motor a good idea.
I have, not fouled. Going to replace them anyway for this season. However I started to suspect the relay because my battery can be 100% and still be a sllllooowww crank. I went down to my work, pulled a relay off the shelf that matches all the numbers. Installed it and it was back to full crank. However still same issue with choke not working. If I replace the choke cable which comes in tomorrow I will be confident that it may end the other issue for cold start. I ordered new ring gear (mine is chewed anyway) and a new starter to leave on the shelf since after trying to use it so much im worried it may just STB on me later anyway.
An other thing about CV carbs if the enricher "choke" cable is damaged or not seated correctly it will cause a vacuum leak
I ended up replacing the choke, it was stuck bad in the carb. Got it loose put a new one. Works great. Put a new starter relay and everything seems to be working great so far. So I put the starter I ordered on the shelf and the ring gear I ordered on the shelf too for next winter project.
