91 evo just replaced the eng 2 years ago about 30 k on an S&S 98 cc. and new head a year ago this year I'm getting a noise exhaust vale front cylinder. i have been looking to see if these is the same noise every one else is seeing and what the out come is. getting ready to start investigating just wondering if some has pit pin pointed a sound like this. any help would be greatly appreciated.
checked the push tube adjustment and readjusted them. got a little better but not much.
Ran a borescope in the hole and the cylinder walls all look good. piston head still look good.
Pulled rocker covers and checked rockers and valve stems. no sign of odd wear.
did notice with the rockers off and rolling the engine over the push tubes did not seem to move rear cylinder is together and those tubes move fine.
The cold and hot really sounds the same to my ears....I may be Army deaf though. I would say that is normal wear rocker sound.
No sure I understand your last sentence. What are you trying to say there? With one of the rocker covers off, you turned the motor over and didn't see the PRs move the rocker arms?
