I really don’t understand how supposedly knowledgeable people insist on using the pressure marked on the tire. The tire pressure indicated on the tire is MAXIMUM cold pressure under extreme conditions. The vehicle manufacturer engineers determine the optimum tire pressure based upon multiple factors including vehicle weight, suspension geometry, tire size. Ultimately it comes down to the psi required to displace the vehicle weight, while maintaining the optimum tire contact patch area, and tire hardness that allows some degree of flex in hard turns.
running the Max tire pressure results in a rougher ride, minimalistic contact patch, and inadequate sidewall flex to keep the proper tread contact in turns.
Why is it max pressure??? because it says max pressure right next to the number??? lol, I guess its my fault that I think people have the common sense to read max tire pressure on the side of the tire and inflate below it, my bad
I've underlined the front tires in red and the rear in green, Dunlop in the first panel and Michelin in the second panel. They look like the same size to me.
Maybe I should have said for the same size tire. My apologies.
Dunlop and Michelin are different companies, they may make the same size tire, but they are obviously designed and manufactured by two different companies. The engineering departments of each company determined the pressures to be used on their tires.
Actually, the tire pressure for the vehicle is specified by the vehicle manufacturer, not the tire manufacturer.
