1990 Electra Glide Cam sensor
have a 90 Electra Glide Classic, just picked it up. Went for a 2 hour tour on Friday, then another hour on Saturday. On Monday, it wouldn't start....no spark at all.
Digging around looking for bad connections/grounds, I pulled the cone plate off and found the camsensor very spongy and wondered if that might be the main issue. It has a known good coil, and stock ignition module...original, I'm guessing.
This is my first Harley and I would appreciate any help offered. I do have schematics, and I've traced wires until I'm blue in the face, haven't found bad ones at all.
Switch on, check for 12 volts across the red and black wires that lead to module. If no voltage on the module leads, get back to us....
If good - remove a spark plug, connect plug wire and ground plug on engine.
Switch on, temporarily jump across black and green wires from module. When the connection is broken, should hear or see spark at the plug. Do it a few times to be sure.
Spark = bad sensor. No spark = bad module.
