That is a great choice of engine. I know a guy who was in the same situation like yours, and that was his route, and he's been happy since. Good time to learn on the original engine. And now you have joined an elite group of folks who have blown an engine.
Haha thanks mister!
And I've been hearing great news from the Ultima camp recently. Seems they have their stuff together.

I blew the engine in my Road King a couple years ago. I pulled it and sent it to Hillside Cycle for a much better than new rebuild from the crank up. Smartest thing I've done in a long time. The engine had a hole in one of the pistons, 89k on the clock, and besides the usual top end machine work and replacement parts, had to replace a crank bearing that was scored from the shrapnel. They also put a new oil pump in it. I put in a new fuel pump and clutch, plus fixed some pesky leaks at the transmission.
Good decision on the engine. Think about a new/stronger clutch.
Any recommendations?
Also a tranny upgrade will be added later, probably over winter. Seems prudent (to me) to break the new engine in, & take it easy for a while until it has a few thousand miles.

Alto-carbonite plus one clutch pack and a Screamin Eagle spring holds my 111 with no problems.
Baker Drivetrain has their best deals on transmissions around Black Friday,
I believe Ultima still as the two year complete engine replacement if any problems for their 100cc engine
I believe you're correct, but the lady I spoke to at Jireh told me they only had cranks for the 107 right now, and it would take a few months for anything else to get built. I was originally after the 113, but riding season woulda been just about done by the time I would have gotten it. I need to get out of NY lol.

How is that setup for daily cruisin? A couple dudes I know have let me take their bikes for a spin that had been hopped up, and their clutches were "grabby".
