Default 94 Wide Glide update thread

I recently inherited my Dad's 1994 FXDWG. He bought it from the original owner back in 2002 and now only has 17K miles. I love the bike but it had that 90's Dad bike theme going on (way too much chrome). Over the past 2 months I've been putting some work in and doing some updates. So I'll call it an update thread, not a build thread.

Here she is when I had her shipped down last month.

De-chromed, Kerker exhaust, Zombie Performance 8 bit bars (internally wired), 21" front wheel, new headlight, random black parts, Drag Specialties shocks, and a TC Bros floating rotor up front.
I'm waiting on a custom Saddlemen seat from Born Scum, it should done soon. I'll be putting on a front fender when I find a decent one around here.

I think she's running a bit rich and it's tough to start after the exhaust swap. I plan on messing around with the carb here soon. More to come. Over the winter I plan on throwing on a chain drive and swapping out all the old fluids. I'm very happy with the bike and plan on taking good care of her just like my Dad did.

Why are you swapping to a chain?

The bike's looking great. Sounds like you're enjoying it.

Twenty-five years from now when your son inherits this bike from you, he'll be saying "I love the bike but it had that 2020's Dad bike theme going on (way too much black)."

And he'll have fun making it his bike, the way he wants it.

I prefer chain drives. More work keeping them clean but worth it for the aesthetics. Ran one on my sporty. Gotta match my shovel, lol.

Save the chrome that you removed, put it in a box, who knows, may become desirable again...say another 25 years

Id rather sell them to a good home, that’s what I did. Can’t stand clutter and holding onto **** I might need in 20 years. Unless it’s guns or guitars.

Here's a little sneak peak of the new seat, it just came in today. It's different, but I like it. I'll get some better pics when take her out for a ride this weekend.

Looks good man, I bet your old man would love it. Assuming he's not around to see it since you said you inherited the bike?
