When I owned my 06 Night Train, I replaced the o-ring every time I did the oil. With that said, does my 85 FLTC have/need any type of o-ring/crush washer for the drain plug? Or is it just torqued to a certain ft lb/Nm?
Thanks in advance. A lot of learning on this thing as I go. This is about the only question I have not been able to find on Google.

That oil drain plug is a 1/2-20 thread that uses a 6113 washer. It's very thin metal.
My '87 has a sender (brass, same thread) for the oil temperature gauge. I didn't use any washer for nearly 30 years with zero leaks.
If yours has a metal drain plug, you might find that washer at a dealer, it's not discontinued. Plugs are n/a but most any auto parts store carries them. (1/2-20 thread) If you choose to use OEM washer or simply a 1/2 copper washer, torque it 18-20ft/lb. They are not bad to leak or come loose.
