Default 1992 evo fxrs intake

I’d like to put a Arlenness stage one big sucker on my 1992 Harley fxrs 1340 evo. The cut off on their website is 1993-99 I was wondering what the difference was between the 1992 lowrider and the 1993 lowrider and why it would or wouldn’t work. I know they sell adapter kits online to make the carb 42 carb accept 45 intakes but I’m not sure if that’s what I need

Welcome to the forum. Pretty sure the difference is the 93 and up are head breathers and your 92 is a bottom breather. It's how the backing plate bolts up to the heads.

It will work fine. No adapter needed.

You'll need two 5/16-18 bolts, 2.5" long, to attach the intake to the heads. You'll also need some 5/16 washers (make sure they are like .75" OD to cover the big bolt holes on the intake's ears) to go in front of and behind the ears on the intake.

Dry fit the intake. Figure out how many washers you need between the intake ears and the heads to fill the gap to the heads. My washers were 0.070" thick, and I used two per side.

That's all there is to it.

this is exactly what I did to put an s&s aircleaner on mine . Couple of bolts and some chrome spacers from True Value works an looks great. I also plugged up all the breather connections as mine is vented out the bottom.
