I’ll see what I can get. Cam should be S&S 585 which was stock.
It wasn’t ported but cleaned up with new valves seated etc. Turns out I didn’t turn over a head and take a pic! Darnit. But I just did now…I’ve got to inspect that head where it blew. Pic looks like material missing… Fresh out of the machine shop Lower right is corner that blew. Haven’t started cleaning things up yet. Intake on the head that blew the gasket
Whew! No material missing. Little brake clean on scotchbrite…gotta put this on back burner a few days. Wife had foot surgery yesterday and I’ll be helping her. Thanks for all the input

And when it comes to torquing, make sure you put oil on the studs so you got a good torque sequence on the head bolts.. At this point I would definitely do both heads...COMETIC .030"....
Been looking for a Cometic part number to fit this S&S 3 5/8 bore. As far as you know, is the fitment same as stock Harley with same bore? The holes look like they lineup…
The top end gasket kit for 3 5/8 bore is part number C9766 and the part number for the head gasket (listed on the box) is HO 81303 but can't find anything searching for the head gasket part number only. Might have to give them a call.
Bingo! That stud broke torque and red Locktite
Sooooo it will be Timeserted but should I do them all? 31 year old case, the machinist said he would sooooo no brained I guess.
Definitely need a little bit more information on this motor. You're saying it's 31 years old, so are you also saying that these are the original cases? The way you described everything I figured you had a replacement S&S V96" motor.. If these are the original cases then yeah you're going to need to timeser all the studs because 89 to 91 cases were prone to pulling studs... A little info goes a long way...

Crap I’m sorry don’t know how that came out of my brain. I’ve got a 31 year old FLH frame with an S&S EVO that was built in 2005. Now, the condition of the transmission main shaft seal allocation, transmission shafts as well as the condition of the pistons and bent connecting rods led me to replace A LOT of parts. It was wrenched on by gorillas in many cases. Anyway, all good now. Ill Time-Sert the bad stud and decide if I do more.
man it ran sweet during breakin.
it’s always a mental exercise when you look for parts having an S&S motor.
I’ll get a list of the build out on this thread tomorrow. A little secret between us: my Mom passed from ALS in 1991. That’s why I’m going to keep working this bike, “Bette Lou” and enjoy treating her with anything she needs to enjoy her life on the road.
