Default Harley Battery vs. Rest
  1. 99 Fatboy with something like stage 3 needs a good cranking battery! My Harley buddies tell a Harley battery hard to beat? I'm been buying the best I can find for way more than a Harley battery ($160) and I've she'd away just because of how cheap and how Harley parts are expensive.

I have continued to get great life and longevity from the factory batteries. They're usually only a few dollars more than the others as well.

So, uh, what motor oil you use?

Harley's batteries were made by Deka/East Penn. I am not sure if this is the case today.

I got 7 years out of my last Deka. I bought another and will again.

I've never heard issues with Interstate.. Local battery supplier sells them for $120... 310 cca.

I get 5 plus years out of batteries from the Dealership, hard to beat that. I can remember having to get a new battery every season, but they were $10. Good luck.

I dont have a EVO, but I'm going on my 5 season on a big crank battery from battery mart.

I get 3 years out of a Chicom (Suspected) battery...without any attention whatsoever...ie, freezing cold all winter in the bike(s)
at about $50 a pop...I'm Good... The Indian 111 has the Battery so very well Hidden, and a Bitch to get to, it gets a Dekka.
