I just picked up a 90 Heritage Softail. It has a lowering kit installed but it is lowered way below where I want it. Im trying to figure out the easiest way to raise it up a bit. Im not sure if I have to unbolt the heim joints from the swing arm and screw them in or if there is a easier way. There is a heim joint, a locking nut and a threaded coupler. Any ideas? Heres a picture. Sorry for the crappy quality. Todd
Easiest way is to raise the bike, remove the bolts from the eyelets. Shorter you make the length of the bolts the higher it will sit. I’d measure the threads and start making it 1/4’” shorter and see where that puts it.
I dont know about every shock.. but the ones that were on my 93 springer were welded.. it only looked like a coupler. You had to turn the entire eyelet to adjust. I replaced them with progressive 422s, but the old ones were adjustable for height.
