The cover in your second picture looked good.
Too close to the ground can make air circulation a challenge.
If you plan to not travel with the cover in the saddlebag then perhaps a motorcycle shelter..some may not be compatible with a snow storm if applicable.
Some shelters are similar to a tent except the front flips back to open.
Keep in mind that an outdoor shelter makes for a nice home for critters if you plan to not ride for months.
I have had good luck with Dowco Weatherall Plus. I use a 2XL on this bike. It's a bit baggy, but I'd rather have that than one that doesn't cover the mufflers. I do store the bike outside, keeps the rain off.
This one is spendy but works well, I parked my RT outside last summer and used this cover and it worked very well. It's pretty heavy and bulky but the nylon ones I've used didn't work out very well especially if there are heavy winds in the area. They tend to rip/tear and the sun broke down the fabric and they just didn't seem to last.

That cover is HUGE and doesn't fit the bike. My generic ebay cover fits better, but isn't waterproof.
We are full-time in a motorhome, don't have the room for anything else but a cover

Look at these. I bought one in '09 (still use it) to replace he HD one I bought with the bike in '89. They were identical except the logo. They make more versions now and no matter what you think or hear, you want a xxl size for your bike in this brand of cover. That's my size, perfect fit with bags, Tour Pak, FLT fairing.
