Felt very Sisyphean at times for sure. but ultimately happy with the decision to do that. Found a couple issues along the way that I was able to rectify before they cause a big problem.

Also forgot to mention the issue I had with the inner primary. it bolts up perfectly fine. Aside from one bolt. My '87 bolted the main ground to the transmission right there and didn't go through to the primary. The later models had a hole in the primary there but not in the trans, to bolt the primary to the trans. So when I mounted my inner primary I had a hole clean through. I ended up using a sealing washer on the inside of the primary underneath the bolt head, as well as one on the trans side underneath the ground cable and nut, and ran one long bolt all the way through. Going to have to keep an eye on that to make sure it doesn't leak. So far so good though, and doesn't appear to cause a bad ground either.
