Cam Swap Today ... Yeah ...
Just my luck It was a lower pushrod tube o-ring so I had to take them all back part to see which one it was and it turned out to be the rear intake.. So I had to set everything up again relieve the push rod put the o-ring in and put it back together... Always something...
I will say though the bike start it up beautifully...
Time to go have some fun...

Tell us more about what cam you removed and a few details on the "experimental" cam. Or is it top secret area 51 stuff and can't talk about without a proper clearance?

I took the platform off the Woods 8 cam and changed the timing of the valves a little in an attempt to make a cam that would have good low end and carry out without a lot of duration..
The Woods 8 is as follows
19-47/49-17
Woods W8 has an Overlap of 36.00 degrees and has in Intake Duration of 246.00 degrees. The Exhaust Duration is 246.00 degrees. The Lobe Separation Angle is 105.00 degrees. The Inlet Cam has an Installed Centerline of 104.00 degrees ATDC. The exhaust cam has an Installed Centerline of 106.00 degrees BTDC.
Woods W8 cam that I modified has an IVO-IVC and EVO-EVC of
21-43/49-19 and Bob Wood labeled it as a W6EXP and
has an Overlap of 40.00 degrees and has in Intake Duration of 244.00 degrees. The Exhaust Duration is 248.00 degrees. The Lobe Separation Angle is 103.00 degrees. The Inlet Cam has an Installed Centerline of 101.00 degrees ATDC. The exhaust cam has an Installed Centerline of 105.00 degrees BTDC.
My static compression was 11.16:1 for the 43°IVC.. I love compression, it's what is really needed to drive a cam...
It really is a very versatile cam.. I had a dyno tune a few years ago and had issues after 5200 rpm, it kinda fell on it's face.. At first I thought it was reversion but after doing some research and what a couple of the guys on here had mentioned it definitely appeared to be weak valve springs.. I'm pretty sure @Max Headflow nailed on the valve springs only because In the video I made, it actually showed fuel stand off at the carb (fogging) which is known to be caused by floating valves..
Needless to say I really like the cam and it was ground pre COVID for $460.. Not sure what a special grind today would go for but it really is the most fun cam I've ever had..
I took it out for a little test ride it and man just as I always remembered it, it just keeps pulling hard and doesn't want to stop.. I really do love this cam...

Add:
My mistake the bigger valve went into the TC.

Someday when we have a beer together I'll tell you how that came about...

Id missed four that go in the spring assembly held within the pushrod tube covers. You better believe I was pissed when I realised I had to remove each of those freshly installed / adjusted rods.
