I tried installing the brackets to adapt 2000 up 4 piston brakes to my Road king. Everything lined up… but the brake lines coming from the tree down to the caliper are like 4 inches too short. I can’t find any that are longer.

Any ideas? @flhchaz @Trumpet

I'd check out Burly motorcycles web site. They should have what you need

I only see entire kits and no mention of custom or extended length tree down brake lines. Thanks though.

Call Magnum Shielding, they custom made a brakeline for me. Barnett can probably do the same.

Nothing beats a phone call to find out for sure. They may not advertise making custom sets. Don't give up so easily.

It's been awhile but Barnett made some up for me.

Thanks guys. I just bought custom individual parts. Drag S. TEE, Goodrich Lines… some 90 degree banjos. I got a VM and no answer when I called. But I think it’s sorted.

A forum email reminded me to log in; good times. I had an interesting summer. Ended up riding the Karakoram range in Gilgit Baltistan, with conditions ranging from beautiful paved twisties of the KKH (with the occasional lanslide and devastation from boulders) to miles of babyheads to stream crossings and sheer drop-offs. While the group caught up, got invited into a checkpoint hut for tea with AKs casually stood up in corners of the room. Google the "Shimshal death road" and "Passu Cones" and "Khunjerab Pass" for a look. Breathtaking scenery, getting up close to Nanga Parbat and Rakaposhi as we roamed around. But anyhow, not once was anyone concerned about sealed bearings when crossing streams and pounding over gnarly terrain. There were no mechanical issues of any sort, not even a flat tire.

With a rough estimate of 700 million motorcycles in the world, 99.995% of them rolling on non-tapered bearings, in all sorts of tough conditions, I would suggest that of all the hills to die on, the tapered/non-tapered one is particularly retarded.

Insofar as the "good luck using shielded bearings" well-wishes, first and foremost, thank you. The sort of **** I get up to, luck is always needed and appreciated. The bearing I listed is of the below type, with its sealing method described. Do you think it will withstand a gentle shower? I hope so too.

Those are old Adam Sandoval sunglasses, probably the first time Sandoval gear made it into Gilgit Baltistan.

Taking a breather on the Shimshal road. Best not look down or bounce off the wall.

On the way to the Rakaposhi overlook. 12K feet here? Who knows. Easier to breathe compared to Khunjerab at 15xxx feet.
