I am thinking these ultima heads must be good as with the power they make and still have good mileage, smooth ldle good starting If you notice the difference on the intake ports, all good changes from the original EVO design. Good to hear the replacement ignition is better it will be interesting to see if it changes with a "holiday load" on the bike climbing a mountain.

Paco,
Glad to hear things are better. That pinging is enough to drive you insane. Most rides I take are 2up and stuff in the bags and I get 44mpg.

After much consideration I am really close to buying a Ultima 113 for our 1990 FLHTCU - for the past year I thought of the 107 but recently after reading many different opinions on various forums and from a salesperson that owns a 113, I am thinking the Ultima 113 may be the one for me.

Does anyone have a list of the the part numbers for the various gaskets, oil filter relocation kit and other parts I will need? I have the single fire ignition so I don't need the different coils. I was hoping someone would still have their receipt handy, as i know I will probably miss something in the planning.

yeah, this is my first time.... and considering it took me almost a day just to replace a starter and a couple days for lifters and cam, I am guessing it will be weeks for a complete engine replacement.

thanks in advance

joe

Oil filter mount can be used from your 90 if it is in the front, that is what I did. The only other thing I needed was a stator, which came out of my old motor. I can't think of anything else that was needed. I take that back. I needed a new primary chain and sprocket. The old one was wore out. Good luck to you joe.

The only thing I had to change was the mount for the coil but thats on the 127 as the coil hits the fins on the head, the oil bracket from the old motor fit fine as well as the stator etc, didn't buy any extra parts at all. The engine swap out took 4 hours till it was running and out the door riding.

Thanks to all...

I guess I will have to relocate the oil filter, as mine is currently under/behind the transmission, but I would rather keep it there.. also would prefer to keep my old CV air cleaner so I hope to find some kind of adapter - I'll probably lose the cruise control as well because the '90 had a different type hook up - I could switch the control lever on a newer CV carb but not sure of the Mikuni, as I don't think they ever made anything for the '90. I did get a price from Jireh on the cost of the Ultima 113 they are currently selling (1 year warranty), but no answer on the new EPA approved Ultima 113 that has the 2 year warranty rather than the 1 year warranty with the non-EPA model. I hate to buy one with one year warranty knowing that waiting a short time will allow me to buy the same thing with a 2 year warranty. I can't help but think there is some improvement that allows them to double the length of the warranty.

pajoe,

You can keep the oil filter where it is. it was easier for me to relocate it with the new style upfront so i could tie in the oil cooler. i am sure you could run hose from the location under the tranny. i am still waiting to buy a air filter setup so i can run my original air filter cover. the original mikuni round cover is similar. I checked into the 45 mm kihen carb. it is not cruise compatable so they say. i would like to get my hands on one with having to sacrifice my left n*t. as for the 2 different motors (non/epa) i dont have a clue. i think the only gaskets i bought was a new o-ring between the inner primary and motor and a outer primary gasket. good luck

later.....................
