Here are some pics of the adapter on the bike. If anyone out there knows what I am to do with the wiring, please help me out. I stilll haven't heard from speedsupplies so hopefully they have the item and have mailed it. I appreciate any help!
Thanks Chop for the pics. I see what they done and will give it a shot. I was going to cut a hole in the frame like the one in Wills pics where the seat goes in the backbone right behind the tank, but our tanks have that mounting tab which i thought about cutting off.
Thanks will for the pictures of the cruise adaptor. where did you pic that up ? I need a couple of those and a cruise module for my roadglide. I didn't pull the ECM, i just unplugged everything that goes to the throttle body and fuel injection.
thanks paco. so that will work then, just leaving the rest of the wiring? The adapter is from http://www.mchitch.com/Mikuni_Cruise...ol_Adapter.htm Looks to work just fine. Did you change your throttle cables to a different length Paco?
when i put the 107 on my 90 i didn't have to change the throttle cables. i used the stock ones. i don't know what i will have to do on this 95 model yet. I am suppose to pick up the new inner fairing today. maybe when i get that installed and the handlebars I can see what i will need. Right now i am just doing one thing and then see what i need next. If i get too far ahead i will buy something i don't need and can't send back.
well yes and no. i thought the price was good until i started looking for parts. the inner fairing has been a problem to find. most are broke or cracked and a new one is off the chart price wise, at least to me it is. so if anyone in the evo group has a 95 inner fairing or knows of one laying around cheap please let me know. i posted in the WTB forum so we will see. I may have to buy a new one. Other than that a lot of model parts will fit. thinking about putting the 107 on this bike and putting my semi stock 80 back on my dresser.
Good luck with that Paco. I do see them on eBay every now and then. Don't they make an after market one. Anyway, I think I have solved my wiring issues. I wired it up how I think it should go, and cut a ton of stuff off. I wired it up and put in the original starter (no gears or anything) and it spun. Now just need to wait for the new starter and I ordered an oil cooler with temp guage built into it for it. Biker's Choice was the name brand of it. Hope it is half way decent for the $200 price tag. This has been an expensive venture, but I am sure I am going to love it when done. Let me know when you are ready to start cutting wires and I can talk you through it. A lot simpler than I thought, but scary...
Wow! $800! Wonder why they call it a softdash when it obviously must be made of solid gold. I see there is an inner dash for '86 to '95 on ebay for $75 right now, but it sounds rough. I'd keep an eye on the auctions, though. There's quite a few on there, some that don't say what year they're for.
