Before you tear into or buy anything find some straight 50wt and do an oil change, pay attention to any differences in sounds or feel of the bike in general. This can tell you a number of things about the engine's condition overall. That kind of mileage the whole valve train is worn from the lifters & blocks to the rocker arm bushings. Quiets down some with the heavy oil it confirms the wear is real.
Comes to it, I have a few sets of very low mile evo S&S lifters, rocker arms and the small sporty style 3 pc rocker boxes off the 88" engines when they were doing them for Indian.
You didn't say how long you ran the motor to pump them up. The last set of lifters I installed took 11 miles to fully pump up..
yes- totally agree! I had a sticky Crane lifter once- took two hard blasts on the highway to get it set.
Ticky noise- ok.....clacky sound -not good
If the sound makes you cringe, then something is seriously wrong.

Because that's how long it took... Some take longer than others.. **** for oil pressure at idle.....
