Default Handlebar air reservoir

I've got a 1992 FLHS with the front air suspension that uses the handlebars as an air reservoir. If I want to put taller bars on the bike what are my options? Delete/bypass the reservoir? Add a small one under the seat?

The rear shocks are also air ride and they don't have a reservoir . . . ?

Start here, to understand the antidive front fork system.

If you want to keep it, then not hard to make up a cylinder to put under the seat, that will be the needed amount of volume for the system.

On my 92- i wanted to put a roadking nacelle on instead of the instrument panel (ugly).
air ride stuff wont fit in there- so i binned all that crap, put progressive springs in the fork tubes- sealed the fork tube caps- and its been that way for over 20 yrs.
good luck with whatever option you choose!

I got rid of the antidive and kept the air ride, used the air line and fittings from a ‘01 touring, just find a place to mount the schrader valve

I've thought about this too, what effect does it have just to eliminate the reservoir?

I used the front crash bar and tapped both sides and added the fittings on each side. Works great. I only run about 8 PSI in it as I have progressive heavy springs up front as well.

Back 1985 Harley used the front engine guard / crash bar as a reservoir for the front suspension.

‘The reason Harley moved the air tank from the engine guard to the handlebars is that when the forks are working some fork oil turns to mist and ends up in the engine guard. Eventually enough got trapped there that the forks became low on oil. Moving the air tank to the handlebars allowed the oil to drain back to the forks.
