To keep the kickstand from going completely forward you had to lean the bike on the kickstand while deploying it so the shortened blade would catch the stop.
I fixed it by building up the blade with a couple rows of welding and replacing the broken cam on the top of the leg.

Edited to add:
I'd rock buckhorns on a wideglide. 😎
The "blade" on the jiffy stand controls lean angle. Very common on lowered bikes, I did it to mine, to grind the blade down about 1/4" to allow the bike to lean more after lowering. I lowered my bike about 2" front and rear, she was standing up almost straight with stock jiffy. A little grinding and she leaned again when parked. No negative affects to any other part of the assembly, I probably did it 15 years ago, bike has not fallen yet.

Pics??
I'll get some today. I need to return to put it all back together. It really gave me a hard time to start and tried to but wouldn't except for starting fluid..

True.. Not well cared for and will need at least 25 hours not to mention parts. At least $2k for repairs for starters and easily could go more with rims.. I told my buddy to tell the girl that my max is $2500. Not really thinking about flipping.. Maybe sell it down the road depending on what I will have to put into it..

I don't know if she will realize it, but she should have a smile on her face after you buddy informs her.

Maybe a $1000 - 1500 bike

She's stuck on sentimental value.. Her dad's bike, he passed several years ago.. Which does nothing but make it sit longer and the longer it sits the worse it get's...
It's been in a storage container for 2 years, hot then cold, no steady environment. I will post up some pics later today..

The first picture is of the busted catch that attaches to the top of the kickstand. It seems to be cheaply made by MIM (Metal Injection Molding).
Harley no longer stocks them. I had to go to eBay.

The second picture shows the kickstand blade securely locked in position.

By grinding down the blade when you deploy the kickstand the shortened blade will bypass the hard stop built into the frame relying on the cheap catch on the top of the kickstand.

When the catch on the top of the kickstand breaks the kickstand will travel completely forward upon deployment.

Red highlight is the catch. Blue highlights are the kickstand blade and the over travel stop on the frame.

I've owned multiple WGs and FXSTCs - Never, not once have I had a jiffy stand issue. They are my favorite bikes for under 100 miles..

I'm with Harley_ish, $1500 max and that's ONLY if she takes that Hypercharger off. Otherwise, no deal!
