I think you said a number of posts back that you turned the original ignition pick up (so you can't try it). That might be the one thing that you disturbed that could be causing your issue.
PROBLEM SOLVED BOYS!!! Bad coil. Put one from my shovelhead on and it ran perfect! I had cleaned a couple connections at the same time so just to be sure I put the old one back on one more time and sure enough, pop pop pop when I'd try to go WOT. What a relief!
Bad one

As soon as you mentioned Crane, I had a feeling...
Been there, never again.
I ordered a Daytona Twin Tec to replace it, hopefully it lasts. The one I switched over from the other bike was an Ultima and it's been on that Shovelhead for decades.
That's going a little overboard to help find your problem plus that's for 95 up Harley bike with the Deutsche pin connectors. Best thing to do is to find a cheap Standalone ignition module that goes down into the nose cone for testing purposes you can find them under $100 here's one that I found for you on Amazon and I believe it's one or two days delivery
I'm sure if you ohm out the primary side of the coil when hot you would see a reading not in the 2.6-2.9 ohm scale, causing the coil to not refresh quick enough for higher rpm's.. I assumed you had checked primary and secondary coil windings..

Cold on my bench it ohm's out at just over 3 ohms on each primary and 18,000 on the secondary. It must open up after it warms up, maybe I'll take a hair drying to it and see what happens.
