I have a 1998 ultra classic and need new switches, what other years would work for me? Theres a shop by me that has a lot of old but new take offs that he said I could go through.
I guess I could take the old ones out and match them up if I need to which I might need to do.
I want to do my hand grips at the same time.
One way I cross reference parts is using JP Cycle or Dennis Kirk web sites. If you look up the part for year of the bike being repaired they usually have fitment guide listing the models and years the part will interchange with on different bikes

I need the switches, Ive had two fall out so far.
The RUN/STOP START HORN HI/LO and TURN signal switch caps generally have a geared side and smooth side.
A fall out of the switch cap is rather unusual unless the cap was broken upon change-out of cap or the geared side of switch was damaged.
The switch itself falling out is even more unusual unless some major damage took place inside the control shell.
Did the physical switch with wires fall out?
The switch caps are more common because individuals change the black caps for chrome or the switches fade and are changed-out.
