looks like a whole lot of money for someone's pet project. Two and a half large seems a bit steep to me. A Microsquirt is $400 and the software is free. Updates are free. Support is free. Get the rest on eBay for a hundred bucks or from the take-off pile at your chopper shop.
Of course, some people are not comfortable doing DIY stuff like this, are afraid of computers of all types and that place appears to promise a more turn-key solution, at a price. ($80 for a $35 oxygen sensor available at _any_ auto parts store, for example).
I'm also very leary of places like this. I know how many MS vehicles are out there (thousands). I know it works. I know it is reliable. Software has bugs and constantly needs development. MS is stable and pretty far along. How stable is this?
That's just my opinion. You asked.

Those have been my thoughts too, one of my guys at work told me about the mega squirt as he used it on his home made turbo Ford Escort. When I was looking around at the site back then I saw lots of work that had been done on cars but not much aboutHarleys. Can't get on thesite you recommendedat work in Algeria as it's blocked by the spider so once I get home will investigate it more. Thanks so much for the good information as thats what I was looing for. And will probably go in this direction. I find the RB racing site has some good info on how things work in general and could suppy the fuel pump and the throttle body. I am a little suspect on the software as its meant to run on a 486 !!!! seems a bit out of date so as you say if there are problems with it you only recourse is the trash bin and start over with something else.
Thanks for the replies but I've looked at the so called timesaver rods and they lack the tensile strength to hold up for a long period of time. So I went with the cranes adjustables with their hydrosolids and removed the rocker arm assemble. I can't see ruining a $7000 engine for the sake of an hour or so.
