1993 dyna wide glide?
A friend of mine from work wants to get back to riding and wanted a harley but he's strapped for cash.So he bought himself a 1993 dynawide glide which has the Evo i believe.What can he expect from this model bike good and bad.he realizes its an old bike but it looks and sounds like its in very good shape.Plus they are giving it a complete walkthru before he gets the bike.thanks

I guess I must be getting old, because I dont consider a 93 an old bike! At any rate, I used to own a 93 wide glide. Sweet bike. 93 may have a cam bearing issue ( ina bearing), plus possibly motor mounts if they haven't been changed already. Other than that, no other issues other than the standard base gasket/rocker box leaks that many evos have. Also, any trans leaks near the front belt pulley may mean the pulley nut may have come loose. There is a kit to retrofit the newer locking mechanism, but if the bike has been ridden awhile with it loose, it may have damaged the mainshaft. Overall, I say if the price is right, go for it.

I've got a '94 and love it. Wouldnt trade it for a new one.. Its got its little leaks that were mentioned and I'm working on, but I'd drive it accross country tomorrow if I decided to go..
