Who's runnin baffles..
Let me know, if anyone expirimented with or without, If it's niticibly worth it, I will get em. I most likely will anyway, just lookin for opinions..
I took it for a short ride, and It felt like the exhaust was plugged...and it bogged down real bad.
I threw them right in the trash!
Maybe the long ones would be better?, but for me, I prefer the straight pipes.
I have a '99 Evo with the same pipes. I have cut the baffles down. They don't sound as deep as no baffle, but they do have a heavier rumble than a full baffle.

I'm lookin for a happy medium. Tuning is far more important to me than an obnoxiously loud exhaust. It's like putting a fart can on a honda civic. I think with all the money I have in engine Mods, I'm not benifiting fully because of a no restriction exhaust. I'll cut some baffles down and let everyone know, noise level differance vs low end torque gains. From what I find, you won't beata stock exhaust HD off the line vs a open piped and jetted/mapped HD. We'll just have to see.
Without getting all technical - noise itself causes a restriction in a straight pipe. They're for WFO only, power-wise. The explosion of noise coming through the pipe actually causes a pressure, or more correctly, a blockagewhen it's not escaped before the next one comes because it's echoing back up toward the cylinder. Yea, loud, but not good for power or economy.
Start with a short piece of exhaust pipe that will "almost" slip into the pipe. Cutit with a hacksaw or thin grinder wheel so as to let it compress and slip into your pipe.Weld a 3/8 washer on one end, then add another on the opposite end.Tap it in say half way to the first bend and go for a test ride, you'll be totally amazed......... then just experiment from there
