Default RE: Starter runon problem

The solenoid was the problem with the runon. As far as the slow cranking the dealer gave the usual answer, "old bike, old wiring, we will look at it if you want." Which was unusual because they usually won't work on the old bikes.&nbsp\\; (ie. 10 years +)

Thumbs up fixed

The solenoid was the run-on problem. I remedied the slow cranking problem by taking off the relay ground and cleaning the frame and connector. I did this just to cover all the bases and that wire had never been off in 20 years.

rablum13, Glad you got it fixed.
I think I will have my bike running tomorrow when the new, replacement battery gets here. I gotta post the details of this stinking ordeal once I have it all back together and know it is really fixed.

Slow cranking is most likely worn contacts inside the starter, They are cheap and easy to replace.
