Cool Handlebar Squeak

I have a '96 FLHTCI that I have looged 112,000 mile on and have recently noticed a squeak which sounds like is in the handlebars. I don't hear it all the time, it comes and goes, speed or road condition doesn't seem to matter. It is that annoying eek, eek, eek, eek, sound. I find if I apply a little pressure on the left bar the sound stops. The direction of pressure doesn't matter, up, down, pull, or push. I have checked all the mounting under the fairing and the risers, everything is tight. I don't find the clutch cable rubbing anywhere either. I have also checked the air hoses coming off the handlebar since this handlebar is an air resivoir for the front forks. I have checked the left grip and switch housing with no luck. The bushings in the top triple tree are original. Any ideas or suggestions where to look next ?

I've had that on a different bike and it was the fork shroud, a little shot of silicon lube up the shroud fixed it right up.

Put a little bit of silicone grease around the speedometer cable jacket where it goes through it's anchor on the front fender.. that's a really common squeaker.

Thanks for the suggestions ... I'll lube the areas you mentioned and let you know what happens in a couple days. But I'm having trouble understanding how when I push on the left bar the squeak stops if it is the speedometer cable. I'll get back.

Yes, the neck bearings have been taken care of more than once in the 112K miles. Thank you for the suggestion.

Pull your outer fairing shell off and check the fairing support brackets... fairly common
to see them cracked, esp up at the top, the cracked metal rubs and squeaks.

I have pulled the outer fairing, checked the speaker mounting, oiled the speedometer cable inside, checked the clutch cable routing, checked the tightness of all the gauge mountings, checked the hoses from the handlebar air resivoir, and replaced the left support bracket 3 months ago cause it was cracked. I last had the fairing off 4 days ago to recheck everything again, the support bracket was OK.
