I can respond to the big sucker kit. I put one on my sportster and it fit good, was easy to install, and good quality. I put the big sucker cover on and didn't like it - ordered a disk cut out of aluminum or steel from Ebay which just covers the front (outside) of filter and it looks better, I think. I also just put a s&s air cleaner on my softail and I like that one worlds better - went on in 30 minutes (but I do have a ss shorty carb).
andrews ev27 cam and ofcourse youll need adjustable pushrods. can you install the cam, i dont know. a good shop shouldnt charge you that much. what they do is cut the old pushrods, that way they dont have to remove the rocker boxes, and then install adjustable ones. thats what i have, along with a little head milling to get the compression up a bit. i can go up hill in 5th with ma and the old lady at 50 without lugging and the total ofo our weight is around 450lbs.
aloha thanks folks u are the best...
andrews cam, torrengton bearing, breather kit..somethin to up the electrics should do for now
its wrenchin time
thanks dave
Look at JIREH for assesories, maybe atleast your ignition . They don't have a big choise to pick from but great prices on what they have and there ignition seems to be a good one. The ev 27 is a good cam choise and if you just replace your rockerbox gaskets you can reuse the stock pushrods.
i have the harley service manual and i'm a pretty good wrench..but the manual is really lacking in cam replacement and pushrod lifter adjustment...anyone have a detailed steps in cam replacement with settings and hopefully pics..98 flstf
thanks an ALOHA
