battery problems

Usually if I have lights and indicators when I turn the switch on, then a click-DEAD nothing once I hit the start button, the case is a bad connection. For the lights to go out instantly, the battery isn't the case. Check the positive and negative connections on the battery post first, then see if the problem goes away. Of course you'll want to clean off any corrosion before reconnecting. If the problem is still there, check the ground points to the frame from the negative battery cable, and finally the connections at the starter. There are other places you could lose connection, but 98% of the time those are the ones that are the problem. Let us know if you get it figured out.

On my 96 EFI Evo, I had a charaging problem that was terribly intermittent. Would drop to 10 volts without any variation in speed changes, then come back. Had it checked in N Carolina in 07 on a road trip, but the green led was showing okay. July 07 till May 08 not much happened. Battery went kaput in the middle of a PG mission in Arlington, but we jumped the beast from a car, got it home, replaced he battery. Long story short. After pulling as much hair as I could spare, the regulator turned out to be bad, EVEN though the LED under the regulator was Green. All the tests I could do indicated it was grounded, but the Green Led was still on. Moco replaced it. I had the stator replaced when I had the engine rebuilt this summer.

your battery is dead or almost...check voltage and amps...auto shop could check for you..possible to have correct volts but not enough amps...been getting 4 years on HD battery with battery tender...
