I have one alot like that and it is installed to the right of the rear cylinder. 1.5 inches, white with black needle.

Can I see it when I ride...nope!

Can I see it at start up and at a stop...yes. It is a confort thing for me I just want to know I have oil presure.

Do I care if I can't see it when I ride....nope I just listen to the engine, you can tell from the pitch if something is going or has went wrong in the motor.

No dash = no lights either

Thanks for the responses guys. I do appreciate the feedback...especially on the non-liquid filled gauge that I was looking at. I'll shop around for a bit for the Marshall and other liquid filled gauges while I kick around whether I really need one or not.

Maybe a temp gauge would be more useful?

tmd442, you're gauge is pretty visible from that camera angle and distance. What diameter is it? Can you see it while riding? Nice bike by the way. I like the black pipes and onther wrinkle items.

Oh...the only music I listen to while riding is what comes out of the exhaust.
Thanks, It's 1 1/2" diameter VDO , Not liquid filled. Originally had the HD gauge. Took it off after 200 miles or so. Piece of crap. The housing would start to spin due to bad crimps holding the face to the mounting adapter. Went back to the Harley dealer and we looked at all the ones they had and they had the same problem. So I went with VDO. Still have the Idiot light connected. If you look close at the pic you can see I installed it where the lifter screen plug sits.
I can see it while I'm driving especially with the White face and black pointer.
Thanks for the compliment.
