Default EVO vs 88 ..

Considering an FLSTS purchase for a second scoot. If it comes down to choice, any reason NOT to go with an EVO ( 1997-99)? I know 2000 and up had major design upgrades, but just wondering if the EVO has enough ponies to pull +800 lbs of iron. I'm sure I could match the power of my 07' Deluxe with the EVO i would guess?

You'll be amazed with just a few mild mods what an 80 Evo will do. Excellent choice for a "first bike" or only bike, actually.

But of course, I'm prejudice a bit

Evo softails have been known SHAKE youre teeth out out.Besides that the Evo engine is great. But stock to stock the twinkie will run all over top of it.But a few mods and the Evo can be a strong engine.
P.S...I dont really like softails. So i to am a little biased.

No twinkie, even the 96"ers, has come close to stomping my EVO.

Only a few changes to a stock engine with NO computer bull-crap will stomp any stock 96" twinkie. GUARANTEED!

I am also prejudice a bit (can't you tell).

I like my EVO. Has some soul to it

Of course, rubber mounted and not near stock.

If you go 88 then get one 2002 or after, upgrades to the EFI. But between the two motors, EVO all the way.

800lbs.?The motorcycle itself wieghs over 700,I've seen panheads 2 up looking like okies moving to cal.,you won't have any problem's.Torque come's in a little higher in the rpm range that you might notice or might not.You can even run points if you have to,hard to beat a good evo.

Maybe at highway speed they will catch me, but never out of the hole. Evos are stump pullers, lots of torque. Screw efi and computers.

I am not prejudice, I hate everyone equally.
