Apply a coating of aircraft stripper, wait 30 minutes to an hour, then hit it with the water hose or a plastic scraper.

In addition to above, don't re-apply a clear coat. Leave it raw. Easy to give it a quick polish or buff. The a coat of wax and enjoy.
