I just picked up a 1994 Softail with 7,000 miles on it. It doesn't look like any fliuds were changed other than the engine oil. Does anyone know what fliuds or recomended services are due at 7,000 miles?

Do you know if the 5000 mile service was perfomed?
If not, I'd do it....replace fluids in all three holes, along with the rest
of the maintainence.
I use synthetic in the motor and transmission.
Conventional in the primary.
Do yourself a favor, and pick up the service manual for it...
it will tell you just about everything you'll need to know about your machine.
Yeah, the next purchase should be a genuine HD shop manual for your bike. bikerbobsstore.com is as good as any. 7K miles, that thing ain't even broke in yet. You should change out all fluids now for several reasons, not the least of which is you don't know the exact history so you can start it now. The dealership oils are a good choice, but exactly what oil to use otherwise leads to much heated debate. Current HD transmission oil is labeled for transmission and primary, so that's 3 quarts you'll need there at $8/qt, plus 3 or 4 quarts of HD motor oil. I use the regular HD motor oil, but Mobil 1 V Twin 20W50 oil, available at Wal*Mart, is also a popular choice.
