Evo Cutting off and smoking

i was riding my heritage springer today and the engine starting cutting off. It would just hesitate for just one second and then it would be fine. About 15 minutes into the ride it started smoking. Any advice would be more then helpful.

What color is the smoke?? What was done to the bike recently? how many miles? What changes are/were made to the engine/bike? We need a little more info in order to diagnose the problem properly.

uh, first question would be: Where is it smoking from?

White smoke was coming from the exhuast. It has been about 15000 miles since any changes were made to the engine.

At that time I had high compresion pistons , single fire ingition, mikuni carb. and adjstable push rods installed.

White smoke is oil, could be seals/guides or rings. When does it smoke, when you are on or off of the throttle??

As far as the cutting off goes, does it go from running great to nothing like you turned off the key? if so, check your ign. switch. could be a bad connection there.
