Buddy, big numbers for the Evo! I ran the 5005 in a 89" SE head and very happy with the power and quiet as a stock engine, my ccp was up there and took out a starter clutch and ring gear, changed to the DM to relieve some pressure, the 5010 would of been my next step but the DM came available for great price and has been a good cam for the last 2 seasons.
Bagger,
Do you still have the specs on the DM? Looked at the numbers on the Nightrider site and it looks like the VT5010 is a bit softer and may be the way to go. What's your static CR and CCR with the DM? I'll call VT tech support today and see what they can tell me about those numbers on the 5010.
DM581 Multi-Index Same characteristics as DM580 with a plus/minus 4° advance or retard gear for greater tuning flexibility allowing changes to the power band.
EXHAUST 56 12 .581 .136 248° 112°
INTAKE 26 42 .581 .218 248° 98°
I only have calculated CCP numbers on the DM and was roughly in the mid
190's and compression was calculated @ 10.2-1 with 72 cc's on the 4 5/8's and flat tops, no actual numbers. I didn't have to grit my teeth anymore after the DM installation while hitting the starter button and was my goal.
V-Thunder recommended the 5010 after my obvious bad choice of the 5005 for the CR I had, live and learn.
have a 97 fat boy , 2000i dyna igniton, s&s super E,cycleshack turn-out muffled pipes, and lookin at woods W6 cam or andrews EV27 , both bolt in , mostly around town (200 mile radius of home ), highway and twistys some bar hoppin, two up. have not talked to anyone that runs the woods cam , looking for your opinion on this cam. have info and opinions on EV27.
