cleaning the engine and trans

so after 600 miles of riding at the laughlin run my engine and trans are filthy. oil and grime. what is the safest product to spray on everything and hose off that wont hurt anything.

If it is oily then simple green and a toilet bowl brush. Have to ask, 600 miles and it's filthy-How much does it leak? If I felt the need or had to wash my bike anywhere near that often I'd get something else.

well honestly ive never washed the engine and ive put 12,000 miles on it. so i guess 12,000 miles isnt to bad.

I have found that dish soap and water works best for me. I even splash the bucket onto the motor to get it wet first.

i went with the simple green. works fine. that and a small brush.

Simple Green,use a variety of brushes to reach tough places.Light road grime use Dawn dish liguid, set a while, and rinse off.You can use a lot of different products in a lot of different places.It took me a lot of experimenting until I found what I liked best.
