Must really suck living on a little island like that, Graham!
Small, but perfectly formed! We have a tunnel now to our neighbours, which opens up all manner of possibilities and adventures. We've been to Poland this year, my brother and wife to Croatia on the Mediteranean. It's these longer trips that prompted the big tank project!

YEP! You know I was just teasing. But yeah, the Chunnel has facilitated a lot more riding opps for you!

We have used it, but on our last trip we went by ferry, as it was far cheaper! It takes so little time by chunnel you don't get a proper break and there are no refreshment facilities on board, so it is jump on, jump off. Not even any cake, unless you take it with you!

Chunnel does not have cake. We went by ferry. Ferries have cake. I'm not as green as I may be cabbage looking.....

Back to the discussion about seats....

I took mine off last year before a 3700 mile trip and started messing around with it. I read a couple things on the net and then pulled the cover off. The problem with most seats is actually too much padding - and the wrong kind of padding. It makes the seat too firm and kind of mounded, which puts all the pressure right on your tailbones. So, being completely irreverent to my bike, I pulled the cover off and scalloped out about 3-4" of padding right in the butt area. I hacked it out of there with an old hacksaw blade. Really a butcher job, but once I put the cover back on you couldn't tell at all. WOW! What a difference. The lack of material in the middle moved the weight off of my tailbones and onto my thighs more, which makes it way more comfortable.

There's a guy on this forum - I think on the opening pages of the main forum - who is actually just 20 minutes down the road from me here in NC. He'll take your seat, remove all the cheap foam, put in a better quality, thinner foam, and get it so the weight is off your tailbones. Not sure the price, but it is reasonable. OR, you can hack away yourself. You'll need a good staple gun though to get the cover back on to the seat plastic - need one powered by a compressor as the hand ones won't go through the plastic.

We've given you lots of info in this thread, dude... and you didn't respond to any of it. Guess it wasn't what you wanted to hear. I won't be responding to any more of your posts.

The fact of the matter is that without the number or responses recieved, this thread would have been burried a page or two back in no time. Most others would just miss it all together without it being brought back to the top by these posts, none of which were from the OP..
