Ive an 08, 113 Ultima engine. I'm not sure about the size of my Mikuni Carb. I believe it's 45mm. I attached a picture. i was wondering what that tube that I circled is for. Venting? or a vacuum?
Also, on the backing plate for the air cleaner. I pointed to 2 holes that I suppose gets the brass fittings that came with the engine and are pressed into these openings. (their for mounting rubber hoses to them) I havnt any idea as to what should hook up to these.
The rubber hoses should mount on the head mounting bolts that the cylinders vent through and the hoses are direct toward the air cleaner element. I am not sure about the fitting on the carb. I think mine has a rubber vaccuum plug on it....I'll have to look when I get home.
The carb should be an HSR45 if it is what Ultima provided with the engine kit.

I down loaded the HSR45 tuning manual for the Carb. That fitting on there is a vent. I'm set with the manual.
As for the rubber hoses your mentioning. Ive the Ultima Air Cleaner and there's no rubbber hoses off the head vents. The vents directly feed into the element chamber of the Air cleaner. Stock Dressers have those hoses to the air cleaner. I decided not to put the Ultima air cleaner back on. I'm going another route on that. MHO I think the Ultima air cleaner cover is boring. Anyways,.. thanks for replying.
Your photos are interesting. We put our Ultima 113 around November-December of '08 but ours does not have a backing plate with holes in it like you show on your pictures. We just have the two that bolt the backing plate fast and those bolts are hollow to allow the engine to breath into the air cleaner. I don't think I used the brass inserts you wrote about and know I never plugged the vent line in your first picture. We paid extra to have ours pre-run and jetted, maybe that makes a difference . I think they had the carb already bolted on but the filter and outside cover were in a box.
On edit, they had the carb in place but the backing plate was in the box with the cover,

Mine came like that also. Was told that it had an additional 600 dollars worth done to it. Im still breaking it in. I have 1700 miles on it so far. This was pre-run too.

Yes, the extra $600.00 worth of work could explain some of the differences. We have about 14,000 miles on ours, a little trouble with defective lifters and had to replace rocker supports, rockers, cam etc, but I am still happy with it.
