just pickin on ya, Ken.
It's true, oil cooling is not efficent compared to water cooling.
So why would HD go halfway?
Water cooling will come in eventually, for everything.
If Harley decides to go to water-cooled, that is what they will do.
Take it or leave it. I'm sure they will still sell a lot of bikes.
As to my original post, some have proved that you can build a very nice bike with a Harley frame and aftermarket Evos. Likely air cooled Evo motors will still be available when Harley has gone to all water cooled.

cheers and bottoms up, bro
Yep... I agree. I really don't care if my bike is water cooled or air cooled, as long it performs well, is reliable, looks good, and is FUN!
I had a 1985 Kawasaki ZL900 Eliminator water-cooled inline four back in the day, and loved it. Wish I still had it... it's a cult bike now, worth 50% more than they sold for new. It looked rather like a Dyna Low Rider. 2.1 seconds 0-50, 2.7 seconds 0-60, and a sub-11 quarter mile... in 1985. Nothing EVER beat me to 100 MPH... on two wheels or four... EVER!
googled your old Kawi, and sounds like a wild one.
After seeing the WGs today, I think it would be an easy step for the MoCo to lower it and call it the all new Lowrider. the old LR shared the same frame and 32* rake as the WG, after all. And low riding bikes is the new theme with Sporties...

And they won't shut up, Dale... this bike was CRAZY fast! And mine was red just like this one... had a whole lot of fun on it... and lived to tell the tale!
I had an '84 Honda Magna back in 84 that I put almost 30,000 miles on in a little more than a year riding it back and forth to work. It was a fast and reliable bike that was sure fun to ride.
